Malaysian domestic(poor) backpacker..

Not reunion-reunion..but actually reunion of me and backpacking. Been a loooong time since I last backpack. Now got a week off from work, so...backpacking I go! Was actually thinking of island hopping in KK, Sabah. But change my mind, I'm going to Pulau Tiga! This Sunday!

So why Pulau Tiga?

a) Because it's not a very popular tourism destination, despite (d).
b) Because I was planning to go to Labuan earlier. Oh ya, I'm backpacking to Labuan too!!
c) Because..why not.
d) This is where THE first ever season of Survivor US, Survivor: Borneo aka Survivor: Pulau Tiga, where Richard Hatch won USD 1 mill, was filmed. I am a big fan of Survivor.

So there you go. This Sunday my travel starts. I know no one reads this blog (except you, even after..god knows how long I posted this) but I'm going to post some more later during or after the trip, because I'm lonely like that.

So I'm at JB right now.. been a while since I travel.. this time, its only partly backpacking, cause this is more like a journey to UTM to attend my convocation.. but thats just one evening.. i have 5 days, filling the other 4+ days with the art of travel..

Took a 5 day off, borrow 500bucks, and here i am. but damn, 500 isn't enough, as, foolishly, i've wasted some money paying unnecessary fares.. could've studied more. coulda shoulda woulda..

But that's that. Can't let it ruin my whole fun.. so first imma handle all the requirement for my convo, then i'd start sight-seeing..

I've lived in this place for about 3 years, but its a shame that I never really travel much here.. school and stuff.. not that I'd be travelling much now, but it's a gain-experience-even-more travel nonetheless..

My convocation is coming up..exactly one week from now.. already plan a trip there, plus couple of days which I'd use to sight seeing while I'm there..

Dilemma. Still a long way from now, but in May or June I'll have this quite a decent length of holiday. So i really want to use that time for a travel since I'll have some money then. But, that 2 months holiday is also a very right time for me to do some practical job of my degree course. And i can earn money doing it too.

Travel? or get a job?

Damn.

Whatever will be, will be.
Hmm..my first entry..
Unlike lots of people here in TP, i dont really travel far. Two Reasons. 1, its because i dont have a passport yet. And 2, i dont have a lot of money (also explains no.1) as i'm a college student. =) So for now, i've been only traveling within Malaysia, and not very often also.

Aaaaanyway, i've been traveling for numbers of time before. But i'm not gonna talk about that now. Instead, my recent travel.

Chinese New Year holiday. 2009.
My friends were all going home to mama. I decided to go for a short travel with a very, very strict budget constraint.
A girl asked me to go for a trip with her to Melaka earlier, which i thought would be cool because it'll be only 2 of us. But, my wallet was light. She, a rich kid, wanted to stay at a fine-starred hotel. So, i had to say no.
So here I was, alone with very little money. Ready to begin another unknown journey. And finally with that little money with me, I've decided not to go far, in fact I go to JB only..*sigh*..
I stayed at a guesthouse, in a dorm..with 2 other traveler..burned RM35 here.. At least i found a place..
And I only stroll around the JB city, and go to Danga Bay to enjoy fireworks at night.
Then, went to a club at Zone just to entertain myself. Its been a while since I've been to a club.
And on wednesday, I had to go back to college. Damn broke already.

Boring trip. Boring post for a first entry. Blame my wallet.
